Dr. Chirom Meiraba was born and raised in Manipur, a small state in Northeast India bordering Myanmar. Growing up in a region marked by decades of insurgency and limited exposure to science and technology, he developed a deep aspiration to advance scientific knowledge and improve living standards. A brilliant student from an early age, he consistently excelled in academics, securing top positions in state and regional examinations. After completing his Higher Secondary education, he chose to pursue Basic Sciences at IISER Kolkata, turning down medical and engineering seats to dedicate himself to scientific advancement for the greater good.

 In 2018, he founded the MitSna Foundation, a youth-led nonprofit committed to literacy and mentorship, reflecting his passion for inspiring high school students and fostering curiosity about the wonders of science.
